Membership at Central Baptist Church is open to anyone who desires to place their life of faith and commitment with us and in the support and work of the church through one of the following ways:
Confession of Faith
Here the individual makes a public confession of an acknowledgment of sin and a desire to live a Christ-like life through faith and trust in Jesus as Savior and Lord and to be baptized by immersion by an authorized representative of the church.
Statement of Faith
Here the individual requests membership in our church after having a previous Christian experience from “any church into whose fellowship the candidate was baptized, by any mode, as a symbol of belief in the death, burial and resurrection of Christ as a symbol of Christ’s having forgiven sin and provided salvation for eternal life.” If so desiring, the individual is welcomed, upon request, to be baptized by immersion by an authorized representative of the church.
Transfer of Letter
For those seeking to join our church from other churches of similar practice, a letter is send to the previous church indicating an individual’s decision to unite with our congregation. This is not only a courtesy but helps each church maintain an accurate database.
Watch-care
Watch-care or associate membership is available for those wishing an affiliation with our church but not desiring regular membership. It is often used by students or those with us for a short period of time. Watch-care members do not have the privilege of voting, holding an office, or serving as a deacon.
Pastoral Direction
If you would like to discuss any of these options please contact Mark Johnson. You do not need any previous approval to seek membership in our church but should join your life with us as the Holy Spirit leads. If you would like more information about our church previous to deciding to be a member, you would be welcomed to a Pastor’s Class that offers a 4-week introduction to our church and practice of faith.
