Baptists celebrate the calling of the whole people of God toward salvation and to service. In the words of My Untmost for His Highest by Oswald Chambers, "we are saved not in order to sit, but to serve." Too often, the experience of salvation is viewed as an end in itself, rathen than a beginning to further Christian growth and maturity. Another misundertanding is to assume Christian service is reserved only for church clergy. During this worship service, we will focus on the connection between our calling and response to Christ toward our personal responsibility to be reconciled to God in Christ and to be servants of reconciliation between ourselves and our world.
