Advent at Home

Charles Conkin | November 19, 2020

Advent is such an important time in the life of our congregation. We get to experience all the garland and decorations. We learn about the chrismons hanging on the tree. And we get to see the light as it grows week to week.

The best example of that light is the Advent wreath. We add a candle each week as we get closer to Christmas and literally get to witness the light driving out the darkness.

This year our Advent may look different, but we want each household to continue this tradition of the Advent wreath in the home.  The families with children and youth in our congregation received a bag with a wreath, candles, and activity cards with prayers and scriptures.

There are extra wreaths and candles sets that we are making available to anyone in the congregation. If you are interested in receiving a kit please contact Charles (charles@lexcentral.com).

We ask that while we are separated by distance, we light these Advent candles each Sunday morning during worship as a way to connect us in the moment.
