Information from the Transition Development Report

Transition Development Committee | September 16, 2024

Thanks to everyone who attended the update from the Transitional Development Committee last Sunday.  We had a wonderful group of folks and some great discussions. Here is a brief summary of some key takeaways:

  • The committee has been working through the Center for Congregational Health for possible Intentional Interim Minister candidates.  Any potential candidate identified by the committee will be brought before the church congregation for a vote.  The target date is on or before November 20 which would be in time for Advent.
  • During the time prior to the arrival of an interim minister, the pulpit will be filled with some of our ordained ministers past and present, as well as folks from  AWAB and CBF congregations and Charles and Aaron.
  • Pastoral care will be handled by Charles and Aaron.  Anyone who knows of or has a need, please let any of our committee or Charles or Aaron know.
  • The primary responsibility of the Intentional Interim Minister will be to guide us through the process of learning who we are and where we want to be in the future. This is an important part of  helping us to determine what is a best fit for our future minister.
  • Our worship style will not change.  We will proceed as normal.
  • Patience in this process is key.  Having been blessed by a long term pastor, we want to take our time to ensure that we are set up for success in finding our next minister.

A full report from the meeting will be available if you would like a copy.  Also we will have a Question/Suggestion Box in the foyer for any ideas or questions for the committee.  We will monitor these regularly.

This will be a time for us to grow stronger together and we look forward to this journey of faith!
