2024 Advent Events

Aaron Austin | November 12, 2024

We look forward to celebrating our familiar Advent worship and fellowship traditions this year.  We hope you'll join us as we celebrate the light living among us this Advent.

Advent Devotions

We'd love for you to share an Advent devotion with us.  You can pick a date and sign up to share a devotion at this link.

Hanging of the Green

Join us after worship on Sunday, November 24 to decorate our sanctuary for Advent.

Advent 1

On December 1 we'll celebrate the hope of Advent with a service of testimonies and communion.  Please note we will not have our usual first Sunday fellowship meal — we will have our traditional meal prior to Candlelight Communion.

Advent 2

On December 8 we will celebrate the peace of Advent together.  Gerard Howell will offer our sermon in morning worship.  In the evening we will gather for a fellowship meal at 5:30 p.m. followed by our Candlelight Communion service at 6:30 p.m.  We hope you will join us for this beautiful time of fellowship and worship.

Advent 3

On December 15 our Sanctuary Choir will lead us in our annual service of Lessons and Carols during morning worship.  We will hear again the the mystery of God coming to live among us through scripture and song.

Advent 4

On December 22 we'll celebrate the love of Advent with guest preacher Rachel Childress.  At 4 p.m. we will have a service of darkness to light.  You're invited to join us for this time of reflection in the midst of a busy season as we light candles and celebrate communion.  At 5 p.m. we'll gather for caroling and visit some folks in our congregation with a joyful noise.

Christmas Eve

We will gather for our Christmas Eve service at 6:30 p.m.  As we light the Christ candle together we celebrate the wonder of God's love among us.
