Letter from the New Deacon Chair

Dear Central Baptist Church Family,

I am honored, humbled, and just a little overwhelmed to be writing to you as the newly endorsed Chair of the Deacons.

When I think about our congregation, I cannot help but see a talented, vibrant, and engaged group, committed to living out the ideas of the radical love, inclusion, and justice of Christ. To be given the opportunity to serve this community with our pastoral team and other lay leaders of the church is a privilege I do not take lightly.

I am thrilled to be serving with 2 incredibly talented and remarkable women, Stephanie Moore (Vice Chair) and Mary Kathryn Tri (recorder). With their heart for service and for this church, I am excited to work alongside them to make Central Baptist a place that ensures everyone who walks through our doors knows they are fully seen, loved, and affirmed.

As a progressive Baptist community, I love that we understand leadership is not about power or corporate governance. Central Baptist recognizes leadership is about service, relational care, and putting our faith into action in the wider community. It is my sincerest wish that we continue to focus on being a presence of comfort, a voice for justice, and a source of practical support for every member of our church family.
