Celebrating Servant - Leadership
The call of the gospel is a path toward servant-leadership. We have a responsibility to take initiative and offer our talents to God in service to the world. But often this journey can lead to self-promotion and misuse of our authority. Christ calls us to humility, understanding, and, generosity. Here, we discover how leading is tempered by a deeper calling toward service. This Sunday, we focus on these truths as we recognize the work of our deacons. Two new deacons join our current group. They are Jane Tatum and Gwen Hart. Jane has served as a deacon previously in another Baptist congregation. Gwen is new to this role, so our service will also feature her ordination to the Deacon body during the 11 a.m. service. Join us for this highlight of our common life together as the people of God.
