Central Christian Church will host the 29th Annual Disciples With A Dream Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Worship Service. Revs. David Shirey, Elizabeth King, and an interracial, ecumenical team of pastors from across the community will participate in this interfaith worship service.

The Guest Speaker will be the Rev. Kenneth Golphin, Presiding Elder of the Bluegrass District of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. In a pastoral ministry that has spanned 35 years, Rev. Golphin, an Asbury Theological Seminary graduate, has served churches throughout Kentucky and Tennessee.

Wherever he has lived, he has been a leader in the community, evidenced by such awards as Distinguished Citizen of Mayfield, Kentucky, Distinguished Citizen of Louisville, Kentucky, Captain of the Belle of Louisville, Kentucky Colonel, Duke of Paducah, Kentucky, Distinguished Citizen of Paducah, Kentucky, and recipient of a Key to the City of Versailles, Kentucky. Rev. Golphin and his wife Dianna have four children.

Choir rehearsals for the Community Choir under the Direction of Marion Rogers, Minister of Music, Main Street Baptist Church, will be held in Central’s sanctuary on Saturdays, January 5, 12, 19 from 10 a.m. until noon, Monday, January 14, from 7-9 p.m., and Sunday, January 20, at 3:30 p.m.
