Join us this Sunday for worship in person or online as we celebrate Advent peace. This week we continue our journey through the book of Isaiah as we anticipate the arrival of the Christ child. The prophet proclaims hope for all people—a beautiful equity where every soul is cherished and everyone belongs. Mountains are leveled. Valleys are raised up. And amid these depictions of God's power, we find the image of a shepherd, gathering lambs and gently leading them home. The peace we celebrate in Advent is not necessarily embodied in the calm and quiet of new fallen snow. God's peace finds purchase even in the harsh highlands and the deep valleys. God's peace holds power and tenderness in skillful tension so that every soul finds their way home.
