Join us in the Living Well class as Hannah James leads us through a brief history of women on trial. Together, we'll explore the relationship between religion, politics, and gender in American history. We'll also discuss the lost history of early women leadership in Christian churches, while considering how religious spaces were (and are still) used as a battleground to reinforce the political goals of patriarchal social norms. Our classes will explore two court cases: the trial of Anne Hutchinson, and the Salem Witch Trials. Join us for this two-part study on July 21st and 28th in Meeting Room 1.
