Join us this Sunday for worship in person or online. This week Aaron Austin will offer our sermon as we celebrate Reign of Christ Sunday and the ending of the liturgical calendar. Soon we'll begin Advent, awaiting the birth of a child who will be king. First, we remember that Jesus' path to kingship was not an ascent to glory, but a decent into the fullness of human life. Jesus embodied divine self-giving throughout his life, radically accepting reality in its fullness while bringing the transforming power of his compassionate presence to each moment. The profound freedom Jesus lived and catalyzed through his self-emptying love culminated on the cross, but the reign of Christ continues far beyond his death. We celebrate the risen king who invites us to see from the reality of his reign where all people find radical acceptance and freedom to live out of God's generous love.
