Cuts in critical health and social programs have left people without access to health care or critically needed medications. Those in marginalized communities see rollbacks in efforts to ensure their human rights. People across the country live in fear of potential indiscriminate arrest and detention by local and federal legal authorities. Instead of responding in righteous anger, discouraged people seek a positive way to demonstrate their frustration with the political situation in the US. Hands Across/Stand Together is an effort by the interfaith community of Lexington and surrounding areas to appeal for connection, kindness, and unity. It will take place on Thursday, August 28, from noon to 1 p.m. Find out more and sign up here.
