Volunteers Needed for Annual Street Survey

The Street Survey is a summer count of individuals experiencing homelessness on one night and is conducted by the Central Kentucky Housing and Homeless Initiative (CKHHI), the Catholic Action Center and the Street Voice Council. 

Volunteers are needed for the 4th Annual Street Survey to be held Wednesday, August 26th!  Shifts will be 11:00am-2:00pm, 2:00-5:00pm and 5:00-8:00pm.  

Volunteers will meet at the survey "headquarters", be assigned to a team with a specific route, and then will go out as a team to conduct surveys. 

A gift card and sack lunch will be given to all who take the survey.  Volunteers will be asked to attend one 1-hour Zoom training session (either Sat. 8/22 at 10am or Mon. 8/24 at 7pm).  If interested, sign up at www.catholicactioncenter.net

This survey includes people who are often left out of the annual HUD count including those in jail, hospitals, treatment programs, and "couch-hoppers."  The information we are collecting will only be used in aggregate. No individual’s information will be shared publicly.  We will again be publishing a report in September on the results. (You can see the 2025 Street Survey results here.)
