Women Clergy in the Early Church

Mark Johnson | July 23, 2019

This past Sunday, I referenced news from a recent academic paper submitted to the International Society of Biblical Literature.  It conclusively identifies archeological findings depicting women leading in worship in the early Church.   I am posting the link to this important article so that you can read about it more directly.   It is a fascinating, troubling and incredibly shameful turn of events that Christians today can start to remedy.  We have a great deal of work to do, but may we be bolstered by the excellent work currently underway to claim the better and nobler parts of our suppressed history.
