Ad Hoc Re-Opening Committee

Mark Johnson | May 14, 2020

We all realize the importance of staying safe during this time of the global pandemic. As such,  Central has formed a special ad hoc committee to give direction to any plans of reopening. Members of this Committee are Gwen Hart, Pat Ingram, Logan Lloyd, Carol Martin, Kit Montgomery, Isaac Scott, Jane Tatum, and staff members, Aaron Austin, Charles Conkin, Raleigh Kincaid, and Mark Johnson.

With the priority of the safety of members, friends, and staff and in consultation with State and local health guidelines and other religious organizations, they have been busy researching, discussing, and developing plans related to the myriad of issues involved with reopening the building for worship and other gatherings.

Currently, there are no plans to re-open the building any time soon and any proposal will only be introduced once it has been determined it is safe and practical to do so.  Any proposals made by this group will be reviewed and approved by the Deacons and Church Council before being announced to the congregation.

If you have questions, recommendations, or concerns you are welcome to contact any of these Committee members.

Meanwhile please continue to stay connected through our LiveStream Sunday Worship and Wednesday Vespers services and the small group Zoom meetings held each week.  We are committed to the health and well being of our congregation and from hearing from so many of you for us to go slowly and carefully ahead.
