Gathering and Reopening Strategies Being Studied

Mark Johnson | May 4, 2020

We miss each other and truly wish to be together as soon as it is safe and wise to do so. Our church leadership is currently in discussion on how and when we might re-open our building for in-person gatherings.   Our initial steps will be the formation of a special ad hoc committee*.  These individuals will be a collection of deacons, staff, and a few others with special knowledge of healthcare issues. They will offer guidance and study for the best strategies and procedures before we are ready to implement any new proposals. They will also be monitoring current conditions in our community and state.  An update of their progress will be offered sometime in early June.  Please pray for their work and offer any ideas, suggestions, or questions you might have by using our general email address at info@lexcentral.com or by calling the church phone number and leaving a voicemail.  May we continue our strong connections and deep affections for one another, even while honoring the prudence of physical distancing to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

*These committee members were named May 7th:   Pat Ingram, Carol Martin, Kit Montgomery, Isaac Scott, along with Deacons: Gwen Hart, Logan Lloyd, and Jane Tatum, additionally staff members: Aaron Austin, Charles Conkin, Raleigh Kincaid, and Mark Johnson.
