Along with our congregational partners: St. Michael's Episcopal, Temple Adath, New Union (Berea), and First Presbyterian, Lexington, we celebrate the generous giving of the many faithful responses to help relieve and eliminate medical debt for our Appalachian neighbors. We hoped to raise $ 35,000. Our updated amount so far (not yet reflected in the graphic) is $ 52, 266. Not only did we meet our goal but knocked it out of the park. All of this in less than a two month period. This means over 5 million medical debt for folks in this region is off the books.
We can truly do amazing things when we all labor together for good in the world. Great job everyone! We are thinking about a way to celebrate this grand achievement at a later date, with an appropriate, safe, and well-timed event. But for now, I offer my thank you's, 5 million of them!
