God’s love for us never ceases. That’s the message the church has claimed throughout history. Yet, this love must still be respected as a mystery. It must be received by faith. Difficult and challenging experiences are universal and will cause us to question God’s care and existence. This week we celebrate Transfiguration Sunday, a “mini-resurrection” where Jesus’ victory over sin and death is foreshadowed. His followers wanted to bask in such a wonderfully other-worldly manifestation of divine glory. But there was work to be done. Work that would mean continued struggle, and pain and anxiety alongside future moments of joy and celebration. Join us Sunday as we consider God’s abundant love throughout the ups and downs of life.
